We are excited about our second year of camp for boys and girls ages 5 to 12 and this year we are focusing on the adventures of summer! Our primary interest this year is play. Each day will confront our campers with choices and goals, and the best way to reach your goals may also be the most fun!
While centering on play, our counselors will focus their attention on helping the campers emotionally regulate throughout the days and weeks. In fact, “You get what you get, and you don’t throw a fit!” is the first chant we’ll leran as a group. Children have shown to exhibit higher capacities for learning when they can understand and regulate their emotional realities. And what better way to contact your emotions than when you’re playing and encountering challenges?
And we have really cool themes this year. Our campers are going to access their imaginations in our four week modules and create something lasting. Along the way, we hope to provide them tools that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

MOVIE MADNESS
JUNE 11TH TO JULY 8TH

Our campers will be learning about making movies. Step into Stonywood as we learn about film-making. Throughout this 4 weeks our campers will create scenery, costumes, and yes, act in an actual black and white silent film. No, we don’t expect your kids to be quiet at camp (quite the opposite!) but we won’t be hearing their voices on film. instead, we will see their excitement show through their creativity on and off screen. Our Stonywood movie – directed, designed and acted out by our campers will be shown on Sunday, July 8, 2012 in a red carpet premier. Come and see what your child has accomplished on the Big Screen!

TREASURE HUNT – QUEST FOR THE LOST TOTEM OF TECUMSEH
JULY 9TH TO AUGUST 3RD

Join us in our Quest for the Lost Totem of Tecumseh. It’s sure to be an exciting journey as our campers look for clues, solve puzzles, read maps and generally work together to locate the missing pieces of the Totem Pole. Campers are offered opportunities to choose their own group adventure throughout the day working on teambuilding and troubleshooting skills. We will decide which clues to look for and how to achieve our goal. While the totem is very cool, we look more closely inside and see what helps keep the totem together and where the true power of the totem lies.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
AGES: Boys and girls ages 5-12.
TIME: Themed camp runs from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with optional after camp care from 1:00 – 5:00 pm.
COST:
9 am – 1 pm, Monday-Friday, themed summer camp is $75 per week.
9 am – 5 pm, Monday-Friday, themed summer camp and aftercamp care is $150 per week.
Single days either 9 am – 1 pm OR 9 am – 5 pm is $35 per day.
