Teen Mentoring Program

Church at Stony Hill Teen Mentoring Program

The Stony Hill Teen Mentoring Program focuses on both Junior High and High School students to help gear and prepare them for their next stage in life. The Teen Mentoring Program is held every Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Church at Stony Hill.

Goals of the Teen Mentoring Program:

  • To develop friendships
  • To celebrate your strengths
  • To share our talents
  • To help prepare students for the future

What We Do:

Meal Time
We’ll start at 6:00 with an informal dinner and some comfortable conversation.

Games and Group Activities
Do you like to shoot hoops and play frisbee? Or do you prefer quieter stuff like board games and crafts? We’ll plan a couple of choices each week. Let us know your favorites. We’d love to include them.

Workshops and Projects
You will have the opportunity to begin exploring long-term goals, express your individuality, and enjoy teamwork. Workshop areas will include:

  • Life skills (goals, job search readiness, leadership and communication skills, and financial responsibility)
  • Creative expression (comedy and improv, writing, music, drama, film)
  • Arts and craft skills (making things with your hands)

We’ll help you complete at least one project that is meaningful to you. If you’d like to contribute a talent you have or have something you’ve been wanting to try, we’ll do our best to make that part of the project. There will be prizes for participation in the workshops and a chance to share your work with the community. And we promise to make the sessions fun!

The Teen Mentoring Program is supported and co-sponsored by Medina County Job and Family Services. If you have questions about the program, please call Lyndsey Parrilla at (330) 239-9858.
